Applying Column Generation to the Discrete Fleet Planning Problem
The paper discusses an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation that describes the problem of planning the use of domestic distributed generators, under individual as well as fleet constraints. The planning problem comprises the assignment of time intervals during which the local generator must produce or not. In [1] this ILP is shown to be NP-complete in the strong sense. Heuristic methods...

This paper introduces a decomposition of the Elementary Shortest Path Problem with Resource Constraints(ESPPRC), where the path is combined by smaller sub paths. We show computationals result by comparing different approaches for the decomposition and compare the best of these with existing algorithms. We show that the algorithm for many instances outperforms a bidirectional labeling algorithm.
متن کاملColumn Generation for the Container Relocation Problem
Container terminals offer transfer facilities to move containers from vessels to trucks, trains and barges and vice versa. Within the terminal the container yard serves as a temporary buffer where incoming containers are piled up in stacks. Only the topmost container of each stack can be accessed. If another container has to be retrieved, containers stored above it must be relocated first. Cont...
متن کاملA column generation algorithm for a vehicle routing problem with economies of scale and additional constraints
We present an optimization algorithm developed for a provider of software planning tools for distribution logistics companies. The algorithm computes a daily plan for a heterogeneous fleet of vehicles, that can depart from different depots and must visit a set of customers for delivery operations. Besides multiple capacities and time windows associated with depots and customers, the problem als...
